Vision
Strengthen the voluntary and community sector (VCS) at a local level, connecting organisations and using local intelligence to develop services.
Support residents through closer integration with health and wellbeing services
How does it work?
There is now a focus across four neighbourhoods;
North - Brockley, Deptford, Evelyn, New Cross Gate and Telegraph Hill wards
East - Blackheath, Crofton Park, Ladywell, Lee Green, Lewisham Central and Rushey Green wards
South - Bellingham, Catford South, Downham, Grove Park and Hither Green wards
West - Forest Hill, Perry Vale and Sydenham wards
Each Neighbourhood will focus on infrastructure & capacity building, including organisational development, fundraising, networking, governance and digital capability for community organisations.
There is also specific Borough wide support bringing together organisations around
- Black-led VCS
- Digital inclusion
- LGBTQ+ support
- Adults with learning disabilities
- Sanctuary seekers
- Sports
- Arts infrastructure
There is explicit alignment with: Cultural Strategy (2022–26), Physical Activity Strategy, Disabled People’s Commission, Borough of Sanctuary Strategy, Integrated Neighbourhood Teams.
